Our first list of obscure sports documentaries was so popular, we decided to make another. So today on the blog Andrew brings to you – 5 more sports documentaries you probably haven’t seen……but really should.

SALUTE – One of the more powerful documentaries you are ever likely to see, a chronicle of the moment and a man who paid a price for his own unflinching yet obscure part in one of the most explosive images in sports and political history. [Andrew @ Bettingexpert.com - 2012]

When African-American athletes Tommie Smith and John Carlos raised their fist in symbolic protest at the 1968 Olympics, few knew it would become such a powerful image for generations to come. Now decades later, few know the impact that the event had upon the other man standing upon the winners podium that night in Mexico City.

Salute takes us through the events of that day in 1968 looking at the life of white Australian athlete Peter Norman, the man who ran 2nd in the 200m final collecting a silver medal. While Norman speaks openly about the events of the day and the injustice he endured for his part in the protest, some of the most moving tributes come from Tommie Smith, John Carlos and other black athletes who decades later recognise and appreciate Norman’s gesture of solidarity and ultimate professional sacrifice.

One of the more powerful documentaries you are ever likely to see, a chronicle of the moment and a man who paid a price for his own unflinching yet obscure part in one of the most explosive images in sports and political history.

    HI tess,

thanks for the email and the ongoing support. Yes your case has a lot of similar incidents as mine. It’s really coming to an end as we continue to expose the fraud and corruption going on in this country of ours. Keep fighting the good fight. More to come.

Dear MATT, these trailers are fantastic -- and give us all a taste of your formidable capacity for making films -- especially on injustice. I hope they encouragesreaders to contribute to your fundraising to replace the cameras and edititing equipment you had to sell to keep your family going.

I’ve got a hearing in the Court of Appeal tomorrow against the NAB and the computer I was using was hacked into overnight, and stuff deleted/sucked out. Again.

As it is, I will appear at a disadvantage, given that the NAB and McKean Park stole ALL of my Court and other files from Daylesford ( remember other documents had already been removed from the private filing cabinet of solicitor Ross Delahunty , where they were, ironically, being held for safe keeping).

Thus I had asked the Court of Appeal to extend the date for tomorrow’s hearing of my application for an extension of time to lodge an appeal, to early April.

The Court said it would only do so if the NAB agreed. Needless to say, the NAB refused my request.

Given that my persecutors are also my prosecutors, this is a distortion of Justice and rights.

If I had arranged for the removal of the NATIONAL AUSTRALIA BANK’s Trial/Court files from TURKS LEGAL, to stop them having any documents and evidence at hand, what do you think would have happened to me?

I would undoubtedly have been charged with theft and interfering with the course of Justice -- and the wilful destruction of evidence and a host of other charges.

Why do the police -- and the Courts -- turn a blind eye to such conduct ?

You were with me at Daylesford -- and filmed the interior of the property -- there was not a single file left. Not a one. Nor disks, Memory Sticks, Videos, CDs and DVDs -- and ALL my work equipment was gone.

Boxes of unedited footage -- gone. It’s so crushing. Decades of investigative
and documentary works. Including NAB files on the millions of dollars they lent TONY MOKBEL and others.

I can’t bear writing any more about it just now Matt. It’s all too painful.

So I have some understanding of what your family is enduring.

I love the quote that there is never a convenient time to fight injustice.

The fight for Justice against the NAB is not confined to we two. And the extraordinary interest in your website is testimony to that.

    Onya Brother.
